Boston Festival of Indie Games

BostonFIG is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on a mission to celebrate independent game development in New England, across the country, and around the globe.

Their goal is to create an inclusive environment for everybody who enjoys and appreciates games in any shape or form. The organization seeks to support and showcase the efforts of independent game developers, as well nurture young aspiring game creators from diverse backgrounds.

BostonFIG is a volunteer-operated organization, which means that all of the funds they raise with our programming go back into creating new programs for their beneficiaries– the indie games community, the general public, and supporters.

Contributions:

 

  • Created initiative as Community Outreach Coordinator, to further develop partnerships, sponsorship support, and increase engagement both in-person and on BostonFIG’s Discord server, for the Boston Festival of Indie Games 2026.
  • Led coordination with various community groups to promote the return of the Boston Festival of Indie Games 2024, after its dormancy from its last in-person event before the pandemic, and achieved in bringing about 1,269 attendees.

 

 

  • Took lead on updating BostonFIG’s website to display accurate information, and to spread word of their events.

 

  • Provide admin support as Marketing Communications Coordinator, and meet as needed with the Marketing team and the Creative team.

 

  • Reached out to local community groups, student clubs, and schools through by email, Discord, and/or speaking to in-person — about joining BostonFIG’s events or becoming a sponsor.
  • Reconnected Boston Comic Arts Foundation to BostonFIG, and continued their partnership since 2024.
