Studio Blue Jay is a small indie game studio that focuses on creating fun games and unique experiences that include diverse characters and stories from underrepresented groups (including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, fem-aligned, and neurodivergent).

Co-founded by Jay Lam, Isabelle Colantuonio, Miss Maness, and Cameron Connolly — Studio Blue Jay is a queer-owned business seeking to make diverse content by diverse creators.

  • Spearheaded business development and professional connections by attending conferences, exhibitions, and showcases within the games industry.
  • Designed eye-catching booths to display our company’s game at events.
  • Researched Steam (most popular PC gaming platform) data analytics and trends, to determine our first sellable game.
  • Implemented marketing strategies based upon customer, financial, and data-driven insights.
  • A/B tested different website layouts to find the best format for the Studio Blue Jay website, and designed the website.
  • Direct a multi-disciplinary team of artists, programmers, writers, sound designers, and game designers on ‘Ghost Jukebox’ – an upcoming game set to release in Q4 2025.
  • Work closely with team leads as a producer to manage and adjust scope and sprint work.
  • Created art for the title screen, concept art for the gameplay environment, and graphics for social media.
  • Designed the official press kit for ‘Ghost Jukebox’.

Achievements:

    • Reached over 1,000 followers on Bluesky.
    • Increased personal LinkedIn connections to over 1,000 as a founder through networking.
    • Generated over 15,000 impressions throughout three months on the Steam store page.
    • Presented ‘Ghost Jukebox’ at Boston Indies’ Demo Nights, the Cambridge Science Festival, Clark Fall Game Expo, and BostonFIG (Boston Festival of Indie Games).
